FHWA has just published one of our recent reports by @TheTranstecGroup and @Wood on the Data Quality Management Plan (DQMP). This report is the Phase I report entitled “Successful Practices for Quality Management of Pavement Surface Condition Data Collection and Analysis. This document’s performance measures include International Roughness Index (IRI), cracking, rutting, and faulting. This document is a living document to assist US State Highway Administration in improving their DQMP for States’ asset management and the data submitted to the US Highway Performance Management System (HPMS). Any readers can download this report from this URL (https://www.fhwa.dot.gov/pavement/pub_details.cfm?id=1120). The final DQMP report will include lessons-learn from pilot projects of applying this document to the data quality management at the Alabama Department of Transportation (DOT), Washing State DOT, and Pennsylvania DOT. The same principles can also be useful for any data quality management around the world.

The Road Profile Users Group (RPUG) just completed a 5-day RPUG 2020 webinar spanning in two months. It was a success attended by tripling the size of the usual RPUG attendance. The 32nd RPUG annual conference will be held virtually as webinar series, from September 15 to 16 (101 classes), and from October 13 to 15 (presentation and expert panel discussion) using the GotoWebinar platform. The 101 sessions are designed to be informative and educational in nature, allowing an industry subject matter expert to provide a guided tour on the history and practical application of a given topic. Each session will provide informative content to engage both beginner and seasoned professional webinar attendees.
