ProVAL workshop at TRB 2011

You are invited to attend a half-day ProVAL workshop at the TRB 2011 conference in Washington DC on the morning of Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011. The workshop will cover the latest ProVAL 3.1 Automated Fault Measurement (AFM) module and smoothness QA with extensive hands-on exercises. Though online registration is not required to attend this workshop, you’re strongly encouraged to register online so that we can email you further instructions prior to the workshop.

ProVAL 3.10.0133 Released

Please read the Release Notes for details. We have added an installation-free download option. Simply extract and run it. The downside is that you will need to create your own file associations (double-click). We don’t recommend this option, but if you are having installation issues, we may ask you to try this alternative while we diagnose the issue.

Some templates from 3.0 are not being imported correctly. After downloading this version, please delete your existing 3.1 template file. If you still have problems opening projects or creating new ones, please let us know.

ProVAL 3.1 Released

This release’s major new feature is the addition of the Automated Faulting analysis Module (AFM). Two important items from the Release Notes:

  • Microsoft .NET 3.5 SP1 is now required
  • The Project file format has changed quite a bit, so the extension was changed from P3P to PVP. These files are not openable by earlier versions of ProVAL.

ProVAL 3.03.0091 Released

Just one fix in the Smoothness Assurance Analysis. The Grinding analysis for MRI and RN no longer fails when the Comparison Plot is set to Raw Profile.

ProVAL 3.03.0090 Released

A couple of minor profilograph fixes and the inclusion of a file that was missing from the previous installation.

ProVAL 3.03 Released

As always, it is vitally important to read the Release Notes. However, we have made one significant change highlighted here:

The Full section is no longer explicitly defined or visible in the Section view. Instead, the length of the Lead-In and Lead-Out are defined in the Basic screen. The profiles are now adjusted so a distance of 0 corresponds to the first point after the Lead-In. If you have defined a negative offset to make this adjustment yourself, you should change the offset to 0.

While our previous method was more intuitive within the coding of this program, we’ve made this adjustment to better serve user expectations—especially those of first-time users. Please contact us if you encounter any issues so we can release an update.
