ProVAL Developer Won ASTM International Award

Dr. George K. Chang, one of the ProVAL developers and workshop instructors, won an honorary 2007 Kummer Lecture Award from ASTM International.

A little information on the H.W. Kummer Lecture Award from ASTM International’s website:

Established in 1968 by Committee E17 on Vehicle-Pavement Systems in honor of Hartwig W. Kummer, who contributed significantly to the advancement of vehicle-pavement systems through personal accomplishments and by stimulating research and encouraging the pursuit of knowledge.

Here are the abstract and presentation slides of Dr. Chang’s award-winning lecture, Quantifying the Impact of Jointed Concrete Pavement Curling and Warping on Pavement Roughness.  A full paper and a video of a presentation of the same title was published in SURF 2008.
