IMPORTANT – Maps and routing in version prior to ProVAL 4.0.71 no longer work due to the retirement of Bing Maps on June 30, 2025. Later versions of Veta use Azure Maps.
Downloads
We recommend installing ProVAL from the Microsoft Store. This option automatically installs any missing required software from Microsoft and provides automatic updates. If the Microsoft Store is disabled on your computer, you may still able to download and install Veta, depending upon your organization’s policies. Previous versions of ProVAL 4 should be uninstalled before installing from the Microsoft Store for the first time.
An MSIX installation is also provided. Internet access may be required to download required software from Microsoft. If you do not have internet access, instructions for downloading the requirements manually are provided in the Installation Guide below.

Installation Guide
Previous versions of the same family will be automatically uninstalled. For example, 4.x will uninstall previous 4.x versions but will not uninstall 3.x. The two versions can co-exist side-by-side.
The installation itself does not require administrative privileges, but it is possible that a computer’s security policy is configured to not allow the installation. If this happens, please contact the person(s) responsible for managing your computer.
The Desktop App Installer is required to install MSIX packages.
The Microsoft Visual C++ UWP Desktop Runtime Package is required. If this is not installed, Windows will attempt to download it during the installation. If this is not possible, winget can be used to download and install the package. The id for the package is “Microsoft.VCLibs.Desktop.14”.
