Installation Guide
General Requirements
While ProVAL should run on any system from the past several years, we recommend at least the following for the most pleasant experience.
- 2 GHz processor,
- 1 GB RAM,
- 1024x768 display resolution
You must have sufficient privileges to install applications on your computer. If you're not sure, try to install ProVAL. If you receive an error message, ask your administrator to install the software for you. If your administrator is also unable to install the software, then please contact us.
Version 3.01 and earlier require Microsoft .NET 2.0 SP1. Beginning with 3.02, Microsoft .NET 2.0 SP2 is required. Vista users are required to have .NET 3.5 SP1. Be aware that there are known issues with installing .NET on a system with the Business Contact Manager that is sometimes installed with Outlook 2003. As far as we know, the recommended fix is to install the Business Contact Manager Update for Outlook 2003. Please contact your IT department before installing this update, as it is non-trivial.
ProVAL 3.0
Supported operating systems are Windows XP Professional SP3 and Windows Vista. 64-bit systems and Windows 7 are not officially supported, but you should not have any problems.
If you do not have the required version of .NET installed, the ProVAL installation will download and install it.
Previous versions of ProVAL 3.0 will be automatically uninstalled.
ProVAL 2.7
Supported operating systems are Windows 2000 SP4 and Windows XP Professional SP2+. If you are using Windows 2000, ensure that you have Windows Installer 3.1 installed. If you have an older version of ProVAL 2.7 installed, please uninstall it before installing a newer version.
