Transition from ProVAL 2.7 to 3.2+
ProVAL 2.7 is no longer supported. Please read the "Transition from ProVAL 2.7 to 3.2 Document" to faciliate the transition.
The last ProVAL 2.7 version is posted here. Please be warned that this version was frozen in 2008 without any further fixes. Use it at your own risk!
Installation Guide
Hardware Requirements
While ProVAL should run on any system from the past several years, we recommend at least the following for the most pleasant experience.
- 2 GHz processor,
- 2 GB RAM,
- 1024x768 display resolution
OS Requirements
ProVAL 3.1+ is supported on Windows XP Professional SP3, Windows Vista (32 or 64 bit), and Windows 7 (32 or 64 bit).
Runtime Requirements
ProVAL 3.1+ requires .NET 3.5 SP1 on all operating systems.
Be aware that there are known issues with installing .NET on a system with the Business Contact Manager that is sometimes installed with Outlook 2003. As far as we know, the recommended fix is to install the Business Contact Manager Update for Outlook 2003. Please contact your IT department before installing this update, as it is non-trivial.
If you do not have the required version of .NET installed, the ProVAL installation will download and install it.
Installing
Previous versions of the same family will be automatically uninstalled. For example, 3.3 will uninstall previous 3.3 versions, but will not uninstall 3.2. The two versions can co-exist side-by-side.
You must have sufficient privileges to install applications on your computer. If you're not sure, try to install ProVAL. If you receive an error message, ask your administrator to install the software for you. If your administrator is also unable to install the software, then please contact us. Elevated privileges may be required on Windows Vista and Windows 7. Alternatively, a ZIP file of the software is provided above. Simply extract all the files and run the software. File associations must be created manually.
